ABOUT
Pueblo County Commissioner Eppie Griego

Pueblo, Colorado has always been my home. From public education to owning and operating businesses, raising a family to serving my community, I am fully invested in my hometown.
A VOICE FOR ALL
I am an independent candidate for Pueblo County Commissioner District 1. I have been proudly serving as Commissioner for four years, and as President of the Board of County Commissioners for the past two. My goal is to work hard for, and represent all people in Pueblo County, regardless of party affiliation, voting history, or demographic. As a community, it is time to work toward development, growth, and opportunities that benefit everyone. I will continue to work with elected officials, policymakers, community organizations, and leaders to ensure the best decisions are being made on behalf of all Pueblo County.
PUBLIC SAFETY
Rising crime rates have been some of the top concerns among residents. Issues such as drug abuse, homelessness, illegal immigration and mental health crises contribute to the complexity of maintaining safety. Decisions made in Denver affect us in Pueblo in big ways. It’s time to take down the welcome sign to crime in Colorado and support our officers, sheriffs and district attorneys with better legislation and action. Their hands have been tied with faulty legislation that threatens our safety and progress every day. The right legislation is the first step, ensuring the funds are available to help support their initiatives is the second.
INFRASTRUCTURE
A strong economy with abundant opportunities demands appropriate infrastructure including roads, energy, water and land. Over the last 3 years, I championed using American Rescue Plan Act funds to invest over $13 million in rural water infrastructure and improvements throughout Avondale, Boone and Colorado City. Additionally, I am focused on creating job opportunities for our trade workers through responsible contracting policies and apprenticeship programs that benefit projects throughout Pueblo County.
PROPERTY TAXES
Property taxes and government spending. I, along with Pueblo County property owners have been hit with tremendous increases in the last year. As county commissioner, I use everything at my disposal including mill levy adjustments and advocating for legislative action to help alleviate the property tax burden on homeowners and businesses. Additionally, I support responsible government spending ensuring taxpayer dollars are used efficiently to improve community services, infrastructure, and public safety.
